Simple funerals

Background

An unfortunately growing market in 2020 was those looking for an affordable funeral.

Farewill was already establishing itself with a modern and digital led approach to Wills, and naturally saw this as an opportunity.

What resulted was a project that aimed to offer people a much more affordable and "sales-free" funeral while maintaining a very important duty of care. Something that the team there take very seriously

This project was primary a lead generation website to offer a simple view of what is usually a very complex and expensive process.

On this project I was a Product Designer.

Approach

Research

Researching with the recently bereaved is rarely appropriate. However Farewill had already trialed it's offering to varying levels of success. A benefit of this was a group of customers very willing and open to discuss their experience.

The User Researcher on the project was kind, empathetic and caring.

Interface

We were proving a concept, so I relied heavily on tried and tested lead generation techniques but using much more gentle and caring language, as opposed to the usual hard sell.

Outcome

The funeral proposition of Farewill has gone through a few changes since this was live.

The company were acquired earlier in 2024.
